Praise for a City Councilmember

DC elected officials hear the condemnation of their constituents much more often than their praise. From the Adams Morgan Yahoo Group here’s a ward one resident who appreciates her councilmember’s work.

Subjet: thanks for serving the community's best interests, Councilmember Graham!
I just wanted to thank you, Councilmember Graham, for taking bold steps to alleviate parking problems and reduce pollution in our neighborhood. Setting aside parking spaces for shared cars respects the fact that we don't all need to own cars, and that choosing to own a car is often unnecessary and an undue burden on our neighbors. Truly, car share programs help reduce parking hassles by diminishing the number of us who own cars. At the same time, it reduces pollution by minimizing unnecessary car trips. There will always be naysayers in the face of progress, but we must press on nevertheless. Thank you for helping to make our community a better place to live by moving forward in the face of adversity to do the right thing.
