Andrew Jackson Quote on Peace

President Andrew Jackson's quote on peace says: "Peace...is to be desired, but blood must sometimes be spilled to obtain it on equable and lasting terms." Gen. Jackson was 7th President of the United States. This quote is on buttons, t-shirts and other gift items at Best of Washington DC T-shirts and Gifts.
Did you know?
As as general in the War of 1812, Jackson won a victory against the British at New Orleans.

Disgraceful Behavior in the Name of Peace

On a radio broadcast I heard today, the widow of a soldier who fell in Iraq described her husband's funereal. She said that anti-war protesters showed up, but she was grateful to God that they decided not to protest. While I'm very much pro-peace, the thought of people protesting at a soldier's funereal is disgraceful and sickening. Protesting at a soldier's funereal is unpatriotic. How can Americans show so little respect for the people who have died to protect our freedom to protest and our many other freedoms. How could Americans how so little respect for a grieving family, for the wife who has lost her husband, and the small children who are now without a father. Such shameful behavior does not further the cause of peace.

Words of FDR are timely reminder for Bush and the Nation

As President Bush, Congress and the nation consider a policy shift in Iraq, all would do well do remember the following quote from President Franklin Roosevelt. FDR said: "The structure of world peace cannot be the work of one man, or one party, or one nation."
